About The Position

POWDR is an adventure lifestyle company that inspires every human being with cool experiences in awesome places. Within POWDR’s portfolio are seven mountain resorts including Copper Mountain and Eldora Mountain Resort in Colorado; Boreal Mountain Resort and Soda Springs in the Lake Tahoe region of California; Mt. Bachelor in Oregon, Snowbird in Utah and SilverStar Mountain Resort in British Columbia, Canada. Included in the POWDR portfolio, is Stovepipe Wells located in Death Valley National Park, operated under a long-term concessions contract with the National Park Service. Zion Lodge is in National Register of Historic Places designed in 1924 by Gilbert Stanley Underwood in the National Park Service rustic style. The Zion Lodge is a year-round operation with 76 hotels rooms, 6 suites and 40 cabins as well as a restaurant, outside grab and go café, bar, gift shop and auditorium space. In the year 2025 a coffee and wine bar will be opening. Zion Lodge is a welcoming, safe, and environmentally responsible resort providing accommodations and services inside Zion National Park. Over the next few years, the resort will undergo upgrades to rejuvenate accommodations and dining for public enjoyment. Renewable energy projects and energy efficiency upgrades will also be completed as well as other Sustainability innovations. POWDR operates Zion Lodge under a long-term concession contract with the National Park Service. Job Summary: The Porter at plays a vital role in ensuring that guests have a smooth and pleasant arrival and departure experience. As a member of the Front Desk team, the Porter assists guests with their luggage, provides directions, escorts guests to their rooms, and helps with any special requests or needs during their stay. This position also supports the front desk with administrative tasks and ensures guest satisfaction by delivering high-quality service in a friendly and professional manner.

Requirements

  • Able to work and thrive in Zion National Park.
  • Previous hospitality or customer service experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on providing exceptional guest service.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items, including luggage, up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the lodge for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and priorities with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests upon arrival and provide assistance with luggage, ensuring a warm and welcoming first impression.
  • Escort guests to their rooms, assist with parking directions, and explain room amenities and features.
  • Respond to guest requests, such as delivering extra amenities (pillows, towels, etc.) or providing directions and information about the lodge and park.
  • Support the front desk team by assisting with check-ins, check-outs, and answering general guest inquiries.
  • Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the front desk and lobby areas.
  • Assist with transporting luggage and other items to and from rooms or storage areas.
  • Communicate any guest service concerns or maintenance issues promptly to the appropriate department for resolution.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service at all times, acting as an ambassador for Zion Lodge and ensuring all guests feel welcome and valued.
  • Help maintain a clean and orderly front entrance, ensuring walkways are clear of debris, snow, and obstacles.
  • Functions as an ambassador of Destination Zion Lodge, modeling and sharing the Zion “culture” with our guests and employees.
  • Upholds the most professional image.
  • Continually strives to exceed our guest’s expectations and create memories for our guests and staff.
