About The Position

Akelius is seeking a customer service focused porter to join the maintenance team.

The successful candidate must be ambitious, friendly, courteous, compassionate, and comfortable with people of all age groups.

The porter conducts the day-to-day cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of all common indoor and outdoor areas of the property.

Requirements

• one plus year of related experience
• courteous and professional with residents and colleagues
• able to lift up to fifty pounds
• possess a strong work ethic
• always punctual, have some prior experience in building maintenance
• willing to work weekends and overtime when necessary

Responsibilities

• maintain a neat and tidy appearance of both the interior and exterior of our buildings
• sweep, mop inside and outside the building.
• sort trash and recyclables and take them out on collection days
• assist residents with packages up and down stairs when needed
• receive deliveries, unpack, and store maintenance equipment and materials
• provide access to contractors and escort them
• roles and responsibilities are not always confined to one property, responsible for supporting other properties as needed
• perform other duties as necessary
