About The Position
The Porter/Janitorial plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of real estate properties within the rental and leasing industry. This position ensures that all common areas, hallways, lobbies, and exterior spaces are kept in pristine condition to provide a welcoming environment for tenants, visitors, and staff. The role involves routine cleaning, waste management, and minor maintenance tasks that contribute to the smooth operation and positive reputation of the property. The Porter will work closely with property management teams to address any immediate cleaning needs and uphold health and safety standards. Ultimately, this position supports tenant satisfaction and retention by fostering a clean and well-maintained living or working environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and supplies and their safe usage.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.

- Experience working in real estate, property management, or a related industry.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures related to janitorial work.
- Basic maintenance skills such as minor repairs or equipment troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with tenants and property staff.

Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal in all designated areas.
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms by replenishing supplies, sanitizing surfaces, and ensuring proper hygiene standards.
- Monitor and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the property management team promptly.
- Assist with snow removal, landscaping, and exterior cleaning tasks as needed to maintain curb appeal.
- Set up and break down furniture or equipment for events or maintenance activities within the property.
- Ensure janitorial equipment and supplies are properly stored and maintained.
- Respond promptly to tenant requests related to cleaning or janitorial services.
- Will be responsible in adhering to on call emergencies.
