Requirements

  • Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff and physicians while performing their job duties.
  • Previous experience in food service preferred.
  • Ability to perform detailed assignments, follow oral and written instructions, and meet services deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to unexpected events, including changes in routine, work assignments and variations in scheduled hours.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of foodservice functions including ordering, checking in of deliveries, putting inventory away in storeroom, keeping storeroom clean and organized, and other duties as assigned.
  • Assume responsibility for inventory control of storeroom; monitor stock for proper rotation and storage location.
  • Maintain inventory control of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Place orders with other departments or local vendors as requested by Manager.
  • Inspect all shipments received against purchase orders for completeness and condition of product.
  • Return outdated items or items that do not meet minimum standards according to procedure.
  • Receive requisitions, fill orders as needed and deliver items to appropriate areas.
  • Follow department procedure for filling and recording interdepartmental supply requests.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas according to department checklists.
  • Follow HACCP techniques and other food safety guidelines in preparation, storage, handling, and holding of all food items including leftovers.
  • Complete quality monitors and maintain related records in work area.
  • Cover, date and label all food items in storage.
  • Rotate food products and other items on a 'first-in, first-out' basis.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills by respectfully sharing necessary information to customers, coworkers and supervisors in a timely manner.
