About The Position

The position reports to the Director of Organizational Excellence and is responsible for supporting leadership, providing education, and coordinating quality-related programs in alignment with the organization's strategic goals at multiple levels. This role requires a high degree of visibility within the organization to engage with staff, managers, and physicians, assess customer service delivery, evaluate operational efficiency, and identify needs for process improvement. The primary goal is to enhance quality and operational clinical initiatives, promote innovation, and develop best practices for clinical excellence in quality. The position collaborates with all clinical areas to ensure that quality initiatives align with CMS standards and regulations, educates on changes and updates in requirements and evidence-based practices, and assesses gaps to initiate Performance Improvement (PI) projects aimed at improving overall facility performance in quality measures reported to CMS and/or TJC. Additionally, the role involves collaboration with other quality staff on PI projects, Root Cause Analyses (RCA's), and Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA's) to assist in meeting all regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communication, organizational development, IT, or healthcare-related field required; a 2-year degree may be substituted with 4 or more years of advanced experience.
  • RN (ADN or BSN) preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare organization preferred.
  • Prior experience in Performance Improvement preferred.
  • Strong computer knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail) with the ability to learn specific systems.
  • Data entry, abstracting, indexing, data collection, and statistical-gathering skills.
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of data/documentation in short periods of time.
  • Strong research and communication skills, including preparing oral/visual presentations and written reports.
  • Professional knowledge of various aspects of patient care and medical terminology preferred.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Valid Iowa driver's license and satisfactory motor vehicle record requirements.
  • Proof of personal auto insurance policy.
  • Effective presentation and delivery skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively as a team member.
  • Excellent communication skills, including active listening, problem-solving, and telephone skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Technical and critical thinking skills required to complete job duties.
