Position Summary The Poolside Server is responsible for providing attentive, personalized food and beverage service to guests enjoying the rooftop pool experience. This role requires efficiency, strong product knowledge, and the ability to work comfortably outdoors in a fast-paced luxury environment.
Requirements
- Previous serving experience preferred (resort or upscale environment a plus)
- Strong communication and guest service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- Food handler and alcohol service certification as required
- Ability to work outdoors in heat, humidity, sun exposure, and occasional wind
- Stand and walk for extended periods (entire shift)
- Frequently carry trays and lift up to 30–40 lbs
- Repeated bending, reaching, and climbing stairs (rooftop access)
- Ability to move quickly and safely across wet pool surfaces
- Maintain high energy and professionalism in a high-volume environment

Responsibilities
- Provide prompt, friendly, and professional poolside service
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter into POS system
- Deliver food and drinks safely and efficiently throughout the pool deck
- Maintain detailed knowledge of menu items, daily specials, and signature cocktails
- Anticipate guest needs and provide proactive service
- Process payments accurately and handle cash/credit transactions
- Maintain cleanliness of service stations and pool deck areas
- Follow all food safety, alcohol service, and company standards
- Collaborate with bartenders, culinary team, and leadership to ensure seamless service
- Uphold the luxury service standards of Hotel Effie
