About The Position

As a Certified Pool Technician who enjoys being outdoors in an independent work environment at Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort & Spa, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating multiple pools and pool support areas throughout our resort according to all established standards and in compliance with Tennessee State Codes. About Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort & Spa: Adjacent to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the most-visited national park in the country, Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort & Spa in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, provides an amazing work environment with refreshing mountain breezes and spectacular views of the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains. As a member of the Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort team, you will meet and engage with guests who have arrived to enjoy all the Great Smoky Mountains have to offer and help them experience our world-class amenities such as the state-of-the-art Wild Bear Falls water park.

Requirements

  • Pool Operator Certification and at least six months of experience is preferred
  • Proven ability to handle challenges effectively, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
  • Strong ability to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently stand, walk, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must be able to work with moving and vibrating mechanical parts, tools, and equipment and in outdoor weather conditions
  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license to drive company golf carts
  • Required to pass a background check, drug test, and prove eligibility to work in the United States
  • To perform this job successfully, you must have excellent communication skills and be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Tests water chemistry in pool, using Taylor Test Kit, adjusting chemicals where necessary, maintaining all chemicals within state guidelines
  • Cleans pool filters according to established procedures
  • Performs maintenance on all pool bathroom fixtures
  • Cleans pool, pool decks, furniture, pump areas, bathrooms, and pool tile
  • Repairs and replaces all pumps, pump motors, chemical feed controls, pool plumbing, decking, ladders/steps, heaters, underwater lighting, and main grates
  • Deep cleans pool decks and Vac-Pac areas following established procedures
  • Delivers chemicals and other supplies to pools and related areas
  • Ensures work and pool areas are in clean, neat, and safe condition
