Requirements

• Flexibility to work on short notice on various shifts and in various locations.
• Valid Florida driver license.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention.
• Knowledge of MDSS (Material Data Safety Sheets) and ability to follow applicable safety procedures and handling instructions.
• Ability to work with equipment and chemicals commonly used in custodial work.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work independently and follow verbal and written instructions.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous custodian or janitorial experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning and maintenance duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, restrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and offices.
• Empty and clean trash receptacles and recycling containers.
• Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Secure buildings by locking doors and windows, and ensuring alarms are set, as required.
• Report maintenance issues, vandalism, or safety hazards to appropriate personnel.
• Set up and take down furniture and equipment for events, meetings, or classroom needs.
• Pick up trash and debris from walkways, entrances and grounds as assigned.
• Adhere to district safety procedures and guidelines for cleaning products and equipment.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
