About The Position

It is the responsibility of the Pool Server to serve food and cocktails to guests in various areas of the Pool in a courteous and professional manner. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company’s brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. – Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity).

Requirements

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Minimum six months experience required, preferably in a high volume pool environment.
  • Must have basic food and beverage serving knowledge.
  • Must have good people skills and a well-groomed appearance.
  • Must speak, read, write and understand English.
  • Constantly standing, eye/hand coordination, handling, wrist motion, hearing, speaking, seeing, reading, and bending.
  • Constantly walking up to distances of 500 ft. during shift.
  • In certain sections able to walk up and down stairs.
  • Working in an outdoor environment and fluctuating cool and hot temperatures
  • Read, write, and speak English in order to communicate with guests and employees.
  • Obtain a Health Card, Alcohol Awareness Card, and Union Referral Slip
  • Minimum age requirement is 21
  • Must possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to position responsibilities.
  • Ability to read and understand all policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, employees, and members of management in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
  • Must be able to complete standard forms and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain uniform appearance according to established guidelines.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures and health and liquor laws.
  • Know locations of all Golden Nugget outlets and services available to guests.
  • Greet and converse with guests to suggest or receive food and cocktail order.
  • Use suggestive selling techniques.
  • Order and serve food and cocktails to guests according to established guidelines.
  • Clean and organize Service Bars to Beverage Department standards.
  • Prepare and stock drink garnishes.
  • Picks up dirty plastic ware and ashtrays from assigned station and return them to the Service Bar.
  • Complete assigned side work.
  • Follow established procedures for comps.
  • Relay all guest compliments and complaints to the manager on duty.
  • Assist with maintaining a neat, clean and safe working environment.
  • Turnover/Takeover station according to established procedures.
  • Complete special projects as requested by Food and Beverage management.
