About The Position

Green Valley Recreation is dedicated to providing excellent facilities and services that enhance the quality of life for our community. We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Pool Operator to join our team and help maintain our top-notch aquatic facilities. The Pool Operator is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operation of our aquatic facilities. This role ensures the pool area is safe and clean and meets all health and safety standards. Key tasks include monitoring water quality, performing routine maintenance, and addressing any operational issues promptly. About Green Valley Recreation Green Valley Recreation Inc. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certified Pool Operator licensing issued by the National Swimming Pool Foundation and Pool Operator certification from Pima County Health Department within six (6) months of employment, GVR will provide training.
  • Must maintain a valid, current driver’s license.
  • Must maintain current CPR AED certification.
  • Knowledge of life, safety and health codes for public swimming pools.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures for storing, handling and using toxic chemicals.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of water chemistry and purification principles.
  • Ability to identify and rectify system malfunctions.
  • Demonstrated initiative, motivation and self-discipline.
  • Ability to take safety precautions when working in hot weather conditions and with chemicals.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to speak and understand the English language well.

Responsibilities

  • Water Quality Management: Regularly test and adjust pool water chemistry to maintain proper pH, chlorine levels, and overall water balance. Ensure compliance with health regulations.
  • Routine and Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of pool areas, including vacuuming, skimming, and ensuring filters and pumps are in good working condition.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and ensure all equipment and facilities meet safety standards. Conduct regular safety inspections and assist with necessary repairs.
  • Equipment Management: Oversee the operation and maintenance of pool equipment, including heaters, pumps, and filtration systems. Troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical issues.
  • Inventory Control: Manage inventory of pool chemicals and maintenance supplies. Order necessary materials and ensure proper storage and handling.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of water quality tests, maintenance activities, and safety inspections. Prepare reports as required.
  • Customer Service: Promptly and professionally address patron inquiries and concerns related to pool maintenance and safety. Foster a welcoming environment for all facility users.
  • Responsible for placement and removal of pool and spa covers per seasonal schedules.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance projects as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
