About The Position

The Country Club of York (CCY) is seeking a motivated, responsible, and service-driven Pool Operations Intern to join our summer pool team. This role is ideal for individuals interested in gaining hands-on leadership experience in both aquatics and food & beverage operations within a private club environment. This position will support daily operations at our pool complex by assisting in the supervision of Lifeguards, Cabana Servers, and Cabana Cooks, ensuring a safe, organized, and high-quality member experience. Anticipated Start Date: This seasonal position is expected to begin around May 2026, weather and operational needs permitting. Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in pool operations (lifeguard, swim club, or pool concessions/snack bar)

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily support and oversight for Lifeguards, Cabana Servers, and Cabana Cooks
  • Assist with scheduling, task delegation, and daily operations
  • Monitor pool safety, lifeguard attentiveness, and overall facility conditions
  • Enforce pool rules and safety standards while maintaining a positive member atmosphere
  • Ensure compliance with child labor laws and minor work restrictions for under-18 staff members
  • Support food & beverage operations by ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality service
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of pool, Cabana, and common areas
  • Build positive relationships with members by being visible, approachable, and responsive
  • Assist with staff training, onboarding, and reinforcement of CCY standards
  • Support opening and closing procedures for both aquatics and F&B operations
  • Perform other appropriate duties as assigned
