About The Position

The Summer Pool Monitor helps maintain a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment at the community pool. This role focuses on enforcing facility rules, monitoring guest behavior, and supporting basic pool-area operations. While this position does not serve as a lifeguard and does not perform water rescues, the Pool Monitor plays an important part in keeping the pool area orderly and welcoming.

Requirements

  • Friendly, responsible, and comfortable interacting with the public.
  • Strong communication and conflict‑resolution skills.
  • Ability to stay attentive and observant for extended periods.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in warm weather.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior customer service experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Greet residents and guests as they enter the pool area and verify access (e.g., pool passes, guest policies).
  • Monitor activity on the pool deck and surrounding areas to ensure rules are followed.
  • Politely address unsafe or inappropriate behavior and escalate issues to management when needed.
  • Keep the pool area tidy by organizing furniture, picking up trash, and reporting maintenance concerns.
  • Track pool occupancy and enforce capacity limits.
  • Check restrooms and common areas periodically for cleanliness and supply needs.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, guests, and staff.
  • Report incidents, rule violations, or safety concerns promptly.
  • Assist with opening or closing procedures depending on shift.
