About The Position

To qualify for a Monitor Technician position an employee must be trained in basic cardiac arrhythmia interpretation and observes cardiac monitors. Accurately identifies cardiac rhythms and notifies Clinical Manager and/or caregiver when cardiac rhythm changes occur. Promotes and maintains patient support including but not limited to: interprets and post rhythm strips and protocol, performs 12 lead EKGs. Maintain and clean portable telemetry monitors between patient use according to manufacturers guidelines.

Requirements

• High School graduate or GED required.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Basic EKG class and demonstration of competency through test.
