SUMMARY Maintains and operates pools, hot tubs, and pool support areas according to company standards and in compliance with local authority having jurisdiction statutes, codes, and applicable laws. Maintain a functional and organized pump room environment: Filters are backwashed, pump filter baskets are clear, chlorine pumps are functional, lines are clean, chemical controllers are calibrated and functional. Accurately records and reports water chemistry. Provides exceptionally clear and well-balanced water in all bodies of water.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training.
  • Certified pool/spa operator, either current or expired within two years.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and communicate effectively in a group setting.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds (with assistance or extra equipment if necessary).
  • Special vision abilities required by this job include color vision.
  • While performing the duties of this job, is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions.
  • Working across temperature zones that may include cold and/or hot environments for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Tests water chemistry in pools and hot tubs, using test kit, adjusting chemicals where necessary, maintains all chemicals within authority having jurisdiction guidelines.
  • Records water chemistry readings daily.
  • Provide a high quality guest experience.
  • Cleans pool filters according to prescribed procedures.
  • Maintains vacuuming schedule for each body of water.
  • Cleans pool, pool decks, coping, skimmers, pool tile, and pool equipment rooms.
  • Repairs and replaces all pumps, pump motors, chemical feed controls, pool plumbing, decking, ladders/steps, heaters, underwater lighting, and main grates.
  • Delivers chemicals and other supplies to pools.
  • Leaves work area in clean and safe condition.
  • Other duties as assigned.
