About The Position
The City of Davis Parks & Community Services Department is responsible for the operation of four aquatic complexes, which include nine individual pools and one splash pad. The Pool Maintenance Aide position plays a crucial role in assisting with the basic maintenance and repair tasks necessary for the ongoing operations of these aquatic facilities. This position is supervised by the Aquatics Facilities Supervisor and is essential for ensuring that the pools and related facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained for public use. As a Pool Maintenance Aide, you will be involved in various tasks that contribute to the overall upkeep of the aquatic complexes. Your responsibilities will include cleaning pool decks, equipment, and facilities, as well as performing maintenance tasks such as vacuuming pools, cleaning tiles, and emptying skimmer baskets. You will also assist with the maintenance of grounds surrounding the pools, which may involve raking, turf maintenance, and ensuring that garbage and recycling containers are emptied regularly. The position requires you to work during specific hours, typically between 6:00 am and 10:00 am, Monday through Friday, although hours may vary based on the needs of the facilities. You will also be responsible for driving vehicles to transport materials and tools, maintaining shared park maintenance equipment, and ensuring that all equipment and facilities are prepared and maintained safely and properly. This role may also involve performing other related duties as needed to support the operations of the aquatic complexes.
