About The Position

As a Pool Host/Hostess you will be responsible for initial guest interaction at the door and escorting all hotel guests to appropriate seating at the pool. The ideal candidate is expected to embody the hospitality, charm, and professionalism of our resort. Duties include greeting & seating guests, answering phones, directing guests to the bar, and maintaining the flow of service throughout the pool. Must be pleasant, conscientious and professional with excellent hospitality instincts and drive to provide customer service. Must be able to operate effectively as part of a team, communicate clearly, and ensure smooth service operations and quality service.

Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • Must have at least 1 year experience in a food and beverage operation, luxury hotel and or fine dining experience a plus
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Must be familiar with RESY, Seven Rooms and Open Table or similar reservation system
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space
  • Must be able to must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously
  • Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Promote the Regent’s service philosophy and style through our people attributes.
  • Understand and perform job duties to the expectations of Regent Santa Monica Beach
  • Perform all side work applicable to assigned station.
  • Participate in Pre-Shift meetings and learn new menu items.
  • Welcome all guests and ensure they receive responsive, professional and gracious service.
  • Speak on the menu, specific food items, the wine list, or any other inquiries the guest may have.
  • Liaise with server and pool attendants to always ensure communication about wants and needs of guests.
  • Verify Guests, check them into loungers or cabanas and assist guests into their seats.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on delivering impeccable guest service.
  • Knowledgeable of all activities at the pool and the resort.
  • Assists the Pool attendants with daily delivery of surprise and delights to guests.
  • Maintains cleanliness of restaurant entrance.
  • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all menus.
  • Posts daily floorplans
  • Stocking supplies at the host stand
  • Assist Pool team with keeping clean towels stocked as needed
  • Assist Pool team with ensuring dirty towels are returned to proper location as needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment all times
  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant employees and guests.
