About The Position
The Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus is a human service agency offering a varied program that is Jewish in nature. It is committed to enhancing the quality of individual and family life through the promotion of physical, intellectual and spiritual wellness. It provides educational and cultural programs that reflect the Jewish heritage, health related activities and many services to the community at large. Through its wide array of programs, the JCC pursues its mission of strengthening the individual, family and community. The Pool Grill Cook is responsible for preparing and executing a high-quality, efficient concession operation during the outdoor pool season. This role ensures food safety, speed of service, and a positive member experience in a fast-paced summer environment.
Requirements
- Prior grill or line cook experience required
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices
- Ability to work outdoors in summer conditions
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable attendance throughout entire season
- Evening and Sunday availability required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items including grilled and fried foods
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards at all times
- Ensure proper food storage and temperature control
- Open and close grill station daily
- Monitor inventory and communicate ordering needs
- Minimize waste and control portions
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Support concession operations during peak times
- Follow all JCC policies and kosher requirements as applicable
