About The Position

Pool Cleaner 2 is an advanced role within the Pools Department responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and proper operation of all resort pools, water features, and surrounding areas. This position performs all duties of Pool Grounds and Pool Cleaner 1, with additional technical and leadership responsibilities. Pool Cleaner 2 works closely with Pool Technicians and leadership to maintain equipment, ensures water quality meets or exceeds county standards, trains new staff, and serves as the lead on assigned shifts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in pool cleaning/maintenance or completion of Pool Cleaner 1 role.
  • Knowledge of safe chemical handling and pool cleaning practices.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., work outdoors in various weather conditions, and stand/walk for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
  • Previous experience in a lead or trainer role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties of Pool Grounds and Pool Cleaner 1, including guest service, grounds upkeep, and pool cleaning tasks.
  • Learn and apply advanced technical aspects of pool maintenance, including troubleshooting pool systems, monitoring chemical balance, and performing preventive maintenance.
  • Work closely with Pool Technicians to ensure all pool, spa, and water feature equipment is well-maintained and operating efficiently.
  • Conduct and document water testing to ensure compliance with county health and safety regulations.
  • Act as a trainer and mentor for new hires in all pools-related positions, providing instruction on standards, safety, and operations.
  • Serve as shift lead, coordinating daily tasks, managing priorities, and ensuring timely completion of assignments.
  • Support seasonal pool preparation, special projects, and repair coordination as assigned.
  • Provide excellent guest service by educating, answering questions, offering assistance, and ensuring a welcoming and safe environment in all pool areas.
  • Respond promptly to guest concerns or incidents, escalating to management when needed.
  • Follow all safety protocols for handling pool chemicals and operating equipment.
  • Ensure all work complies with resort policies, county health regulations, and manufacturer guidelines.
