About The Position

The Langham Huntington, Pasadena, Los Angeles is seeking a Bartender for the Pool Bar department. The primary objective of this position is to serve beverages and/or food to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner, ensuring guest satisfaction. The Bartender will also prepare beverages for other servers and act as a cashier for the pool. Responsibilities include maintaining the bar setup, stocking supplies, greeting guests, mixing drinks, handling cash, and performing general cleaning tasks. The role requires adherence to health standards and compliance with liquor regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred.
• Bartending experience required.
• CPR Certification and/or First Aid Training required.
• Must be able to obtain TIPS certification.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
• Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register and make change.
• Basic English language writing skills necessary for completion of requisitions and balance sheets.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to perform bartending tasks.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English to communicate with guests.

Responsibilities

• Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a function basis.
• Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily.
• Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks.
• Mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
• Receives cash from guests, makes any change needed, verifies validity of charges, and records charges.
• Locks up and stores all beverages, food, and other equipment items, deposits cash drops, and secures bank.
• Cleans bar at the end of each day.
• Performs general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products.
• Must adhere to all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations.

Benefits

• Competitive hourly wage ranging from $18.04 to $19.50.
