About The Position

The Pool Attendant keeps the pool and surrounding areas clean, safe, and guest-ready. You’ll welcome guests, manage towels and seating, monitor capacity and rules, support light water-quality checks, and coordinate with Engineering/Security for a relaxed, well-run pool experience.

Requirements

  • Prior pool, recreation, hospitality, or customer-service experience preferred (will train reliable candidates).
  • Friendly, proactive communicator with a guest-first mindset; confident enforcing rules respectfully.
  • Comfortable using radios and basic POS; organized and attentive to detail.
  • Ability to work outdoors in heat/sun and variable weather; flexible schedule including weekends/holidays. Shifts range between 7am-7pm.
  • Stand/walk for extended periods; frequent bending, lifting, and reaching.
  • Lift/push/pull up to 40–50 lbs (loungers, umbrellas, towel bins); work in sun/heat with required breaks and hydration.
  • Comfortable around pool chemicals (training/PPE provided); may be exposed to loud environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications (preferred): CPR/First Aid/AED; Food Handler (if serving F&B). CPO not required but a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests, verify access (keys/wristbands), explain pool hours, amenities, and safety guidelines.
  • Provide towels, sunscreen/amenity setup, and assist with cabana/daybed/umbrella reservations per SOP.
  • Handle basic F&B or retail support (if applicable): take orders, run items, process checks via POS.
  • Set, stage, and sanitize loungers, tables, umbrellas, and cabanas; maintain tidy deck, entrances, and restrooms.
  • Collect used towels/linen; maintain par levels and inventory; clear trash/recycling and spot-mop spills.
  • Monitor pool usage, capacity, weather, and behavior; enforce posted rules (no glass, diving, running, etc.) with professionalism.
  • Conduct visible deck patrols; report hazards (broken furniture, slick surfaces, cloudy water) immediately.
  • Respond to incidents per SOP: call EMS/notify Security, provide basic first aid if trained, complete incident reports.
  • Post closures for lightning/chemical issues and secure area until cleared.
  • Perform simple water tests (chlorine, pH) and log readings; communicate variances to Engineering/CPO.
  • Support daily checklist completion (logbooks, temperatures, backwash notifications) and assist with pool opening/closing.
  • Maintain umbrellas, pump room access coordination (no untrained entry), towels, toys/floaties (if permitted), and signage; report maintenance needs via CMMS.
  • Radio updates to Front Office/Engineering/Security regarding capacity, VIP setups, and issues; manage Lost & Found to policy.
