About The Position

The Pool Attendant provides prompt, accurate, and courteous service in a high-volume beach club environment. This role is responsible for greeting guests, answering phone calls, and processing guest checks efficiently while maintaining a positive, professional demeanor and delivering exceptional guest service at all times. Pool Attendants maintain an accurate count of all guests entering Village Beach Club or Village Country Club and manage guest flow to ensure the entry line moves at a steady and orderly pace. Guests who are undecided or unwilling to pay cover must be asked to step out of the line until they are prepared to enter. In addition, Pool Attendants operate designated retail areas, bag check, and the food ordering window. Responsibilities include processing payments through the POS system using credit cards, venue comps, and all approved tender types, while adhering to company policies and cash-handling procedures. Pool Attendants are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of their assigned work areas and contributing to the overall cleanliness of the venue. This includes performing table maintenance, clearing excess tableware, and removing trash, debris, and used towels throughout the pool and surrounding guest areas to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

Requirements

  • At least one year of previous cash handling experience in a similar or related field.
  • Must follow all company and departmental check handling policies and procedures and POS terminal functions with accuracy.
  • Ability to demonstrate positive interactive skills, sound judgment, logical decision making and manage time effectively with minimum supervision.
  • Working knowledge of POS systems (ex: Toast, UrVenue, Speakeasy, etc.).
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English.
  • Polished appearance and demeanor.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Able to move, setup/breakdown, transport objects such as furniture, tables, chairs, equipment, product, supplies, etc.
  • Able to perform tasks and duties in various types of footwear apparel.
  • Capable to climb, bend, reach, push, pull, stoop, grasp, walk, sit and stand for the duration of shift.
  • Require manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.
  • Willing to work in a loud and smoke filled environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet, interact, entertain and serve guest’s courteously and in a timely manner with an upbeat attitude.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a courteous and polite manner.
  • Maintain line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through your work area throughout shift.
  • Check IDs and bags brought in by guests
  • Ensure that the pool/dining areas are clean and set up for proper service
  • Maintain general cleanliness of all venue areas throughout service and perform table maintenance and bussing of excess tableware as well as any trash/debris and towels around the pool area.
  • Respond to guest concerns/complaints regarding service and correct errors or resolve complaints with a positive attitude.
  • Maintain knowledge of all retail offerings and is ability to suggestively sell and attend to guest needs.
  • Responsible for the control of guests checked-in belongings through a ticketing system and proper care and custody of guests’ garments.
  • Handle all payments including credit card, gift cards, electronic payment etc. through the POS system.
  • Process guest payment and checks by credit card, venue comps and all other tender types through POS terminal functions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, Team Members, and Management in both written and verbal form.
  • Set up and break down of work areas, including furniture and equipment; maintain and clean designated work areas before, during, and after shift.
  • Will be assigned various opening and closing duties.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment in accordance with Dallas Consumer Health Standards.
  • Adhere to and enforce company, local, state, and government specific regulations.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any licensing or active work cards required, at present or in the future, for this position at all times.
  • Will follow all company and department policies and procedures, practices and guidelines.
  • Flexibility to perform other job related tasks as deemed necessary by Management.
  • Must have flexibility to work varying schedules based upon business demands, special events and banquets; including weekends and holidays.
