About The Position

We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Pool Attendant. The Pool Attendant will be responsible for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all pool patrons, maintaining a clean and organized pool area, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude to ensure a positive experience for all visitors.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Current lifeguard certification from a recognized training program
  • CPR/AED, FAID, and LIFE certifications
  • Strong swimming skills and endurance
  • Excellent observational and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress situations
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform rescues and other emergency procedures
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, holidays, and weekends
  • Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment with high call volume
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and communicate verbally in English.
  • Written communication skills in English may also be required.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain constant surveillance of the swimming area to ensure the safety of all patrons
  • Identify and address any potential hazards or unsafe conditions
  • Enforce facility rules and regulations to promote a safe and positive environment
  • Provide guidance and education to patrons on proper water safety behavior
  • Respond quickly and effectively to all emergency situations
  • Perform rescues and administer first aid as needed
  • Contact emergency medical services and provide assistance until they arrive
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with patrons, colleagues, and management
  • Provide clear instructions during emergency situations
  • Inspect and maintain all lifeguard equipment regularly
  • Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate authorities
  • Attend and participate in regular training sessions and drills
  • Stay current on lifeguarding techniques, first aid, and CPR/AED certification
  • Interact with patrons in a friendly and approachable manner
  • Assist with inquiries and provide information about facility services
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary
