About The Position

To tend to the guests and their needs in the Recreation Department while ensuring all Health and Safety Standards are met. Responsible for pool health (chemical balance/cleanliness), reporting maintenance issues in the area immediately, and general cleanliness/supply of all areas.

Requirements

  • Previous Pool and Gym experience is an asset.
  • Guest/Customer Service experience.
  • Valid CPR/1st Aid.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with guests and colleagues
  • An ability to work independently and as a team player. 
  • Able to take initiative.
  • A problem solver who has the ability to make common sense based decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn.
  • Ability to communicate and write effectively in English. 
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Perform such tasks as: bending, storing, kneeling, carrying, and transporting goods up to approx 56 Kg
  • Must successfully complete background check.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and assist guests with the use of fitness equipment, ensuring guests wear adequate footwear to maintain a safe fitness facility.
  • Consistently maintain a safe recreation environment for everyone (squeegee excess water off deck, adjusts mats, ensuring proper water/chemical levels etc, 1st Aid issues are handled appropriately etc.). 
  • Communicate with customers in friendly and positive manner.
  • To maintain pools through testing, cleaning and ensuring Health and Safety standards are met at all times.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the facility and reporting any maintenance issues to respective departments immediately. 
  • Maintain key safety and security procedures. 
  • Enforce all rules and regulations.
  • Ensures that work area is left in ready condition whereby the succeeding attendant is prepared for the following shift.
  • Complete daily checklist. 
  • To promote cooperation and team work with colleagues
  • Ensure accurate and timely notes are passed along in the daily log book 
  • Comply with Hotel/Company/Health and Safety Policies and Procedures. 
  • Maintain chemical and work logs and determining/taking action when necessary.
  • Responsible for the sale of pool and laundry products and its inventory.
  • Deposit revenues for designated area 
  • Report all health and safety hazards and concerns.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
