JOB SUMMARY: The Pool and Beach Server is responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service to guests in outdoor pool and beach areas, ensuring guest satisfaction through attentive, professional, and personalized service while maintaining cleanliness, safety, and operational standards.

Requirements

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, outdoor, and team oriented environment
  • Proficient in the English language (verbal and written); second language is an asset
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi cultural team environment
  • Show genuine care for all co workers and guest(s)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in an ever changing environment
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
  • Basic knowledge of POS systems (Micros or similar preferred)
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service; wine knowledge is an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Food Handler Certification required or must be obtained within required timeframe
  • Must meet minimum age requirements of 18 years old to serve alcohol according to Florida law
  • Continuous standing and walking for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of trays, furniture, and service items up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Repetitive bending, stooping, reaching, and carrying throughout the shift
  • Ability to work outdoors for prolonged periods under varying weather conditions including heat, humidity, sun exposure, wind, and rain
  • Exposure to wet surfaces, pool chemicals, cleaning agents, and sand
  • Frequent use of hands and arms for carrying trays and servicing guests
  • Ability to maintain balance while carrying items across uneven surfaces such as pool decks and sand
  • Moderate to high noise levels in guest service areas
  • Requires close and distance vision, as well as hearing ability for guest interaction and safety awareness

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt, courteous, and professional food and beverage service to pool and beach guests
  • Greet guests warmly and explain menu offerings, specials, and promotions
  • Accurately take and input orders into the POS system
  • Deliver food and beverages ensuring accuracy and presentation standards
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and respond promptly to requests or concerns
  • Set up, maintain, and break down service stations before, during, and after shifts
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of pool and beach service areas
  • Assist guests with seating arrangements, towels, umbrellas, and lounge chairs
  • Comply with all state and local alcohol service regulations, including ID verification
  • Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure timely service
  • Process payments accurately (cash, room charge, or other methods)
  • Follow all hotel policies, procedures, and service standards
  • Assist other Food and Beverage outlets as needed
  • Maintain the highest level of customer service and guest satisfaction according to the standards set forth by The Palms Hotel and Spa
  • Ensure compliance with health and sanitation policies in all areas
  • Adhere to all fire, safety, and security procedures according to hotel policy
  • Adhere to all sustainability guidelines as per the Inspired by Nature Program.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
