Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D) required.
• 3 to 6 months experience in sleep testing is preferred.
• Registered Polysomnographic Tech (RPSGT) certification required at the time of hire or within 12 months of hire if currently a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.
• Iowa Polysomnographic Technologist (PSGT) license required at the time of hire or within 12 months of hire if currently an Iowa licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP.IA) or Registered EEG Technician (R.EEGT).

Responsibilities

• Positive relations when interacting with patients, visitors, families, physicians, customers, and coworkers.
• Gather and analyze patient information to identify and meet patient specific needs.
• Prepare and calibrate equipment for testing.
• Conduct polysomnographic procedures and data acquisition while monitoring.
• Score sleep/wake stages and clinical events according to guidelines.
• Facilitate communication to pulmonologists for interpretation.
• Maintain supply inventory.
