The Polysomnographic Technologist performs detailed assessments and polysomnograms to diagnose and treat sleep disorders under the guidance of a medical director. This role involves direct patient interaction, including preparation and education on sleep study procedures and the use of related equipment. Key responsibilities include calibrating and maintaining polysomnography equipment, administering tests such as MSLT (Multiple Sleep Latency Test) and MWT (Maintenance of Wakefulness Test), and ensuring accurate data recording and analysis following AASM guidelines. The technologist must adeptly adjust testing parameters in real-time based on patient responses and clinical observations. Collaboration with healthcare providers and continuous professional development through training and workshops are essential components of this position. At the Sleep Center of Central Minnesota, we help patients uncover the root causes of sleep disorders that impact their daily lives, energy levels, and overall health. Sleep is essential to physical and mental well-being, and when it's disrupted by conditions like sleep apnea, insomnia, restless leg syndrome, or narcolepsy, it can lead to serious long-term health effects. Our team specializes in comprehensive sleep studies and diagnostic testing to help patients get the answers they need and the treatment they deserve. Whether conducting overnight or home sleep studies, analyzing sleep patterns, or educating patients on treatment options, your expertise will make a lasting impact. If you're passionate about helping people wake up feeling refreshed and revitalized, join us at the Sleep Center of Central Minnesota.
