The Polysomnographic Technician I is an entry-level role responsible for conducting routine overnight polysomnographic (PSG) studies under supervision. This position performs sleep study set-ups, patient monitoring, data acquisition, and basic troubleshooting in accordance with physician orders, facility policies, AASM standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Polysomnographic Technology program or enrollment in a sleep technology training program.
- Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT) or Sleep Disorder Specialist within one year of hire.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Nice To Haves
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
