SLEEP SPECIALISTS - POLYSOMNOGRAPHIC TECHNICIAN TRAINEE
About The Position
Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Polysomnographic Technician Trainee to join our team! JOB SUMMARY: A Polysomnographic Technician performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis, and associated interventions under the general supervision of a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) and/or the clinical director or designee. Requirements
- Successful completion of a polysomnography program (A-Step) with certificate showing completion or a Respiratory Therapist License.
- Associates degree is required.
- Upon hire, on the job training to complete the requirements to take the board registry Polysomnographic Technologist exam within 6 months.
- Must take and pass national board credentialing test within one year from date of hire.
- Technician is required to prepare and calibrate equipment for testing to determine proper functioning and make adjustments if necessary.
- Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards.
- Perform appropriate physiologic calibrations to ensure proper signals and to make adjustments if necessary.
- Perform routine positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fitting.
- Must have more than a basic knowledge of computer skills and become proficient with clinic software.
