About The Position

To provide under the direct supervision of the Medical Director and Sleep Center Director the highest quality of care within the scope of sleep medicine and respiratory care in regards to evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders for all ages of patients of The Children's Mercy Hospital (CMH). Demonstrating expertise in clinical practice specific to polysomnographic technology and respiratory care for the patients. Provides accurate documentation of services performed, provides instruction for students and assists with orientation of new employees. Completes other tasks as assigned. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Associates Degree or higher from an accredited CoARC program and 1-2 years experience Clinical experience as a respiratory therapist in a hospital setting. Pediatric critical care experience preferred.
  • One of the following: Certified Respiratory Therapist CRT, or Registered Respiratory Therapist RRT required upon hire
  • Employees must have or obtain Licensed Respiratory Therapist KS or equivalent within 60 days
  • Employees must have or obtain Licensed Respiratory Therapist MO or equivalent within 60 days
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner - State of Missouri Required 60 Days
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner - State of Kansas Required 60 Days
  • Registered by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists. Required within 12 months.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Required Upon Hire
  • Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) Required 90 Days
