The Polysomnographic Technologist III works collectively with the Medical Director, Leadership, staff and patients to achieve optimal efficiency and success in sleep disorder testing and scoring. Performs comprehensive sleep testing / analysis and associated interventions under the general supervision of the Sleep Center Manager, Medical Director, or designee and provides supervision of a Polysomnographic Trainee, Polysomnographic Technologist I, and Polysomnographic Technologist II. A Polysomnographic Technologist III is credentialed in sleep technology and holds a second credential in sleep or an allied healthcare field.

  • Perform comprehensive sleep testing and analysis.
  • Supervise Polysomnographic Trainee, Technologist I, and Technologist II.
  • Work under the supervision of the Sleep Center Manager or Medical Director.
  • Achieve optimal efficiency in sleep disorder testing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must obtain one of the following certifications: RPSGT, Registered in sleep technology through BRPT, SDS from NBRC, or RST from ABSM.
  • CPR certification from American Heart Association (BLS for Health Care Providers).
  • An associate’s degree in an allied healthcare field (respiratory care or neuro-diagnostics).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
  • Analytical skills to collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Interpersonal skills to explain procedures to patients.
