The Polysomnography Technologist is responsible for preparing the lab for patients, patient set up and performing basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies. Assists in the orientation and training of other staff in the department. The position involves performing standard and advanced diagnostic/therapeutic sleep studies while remaining compliant with department policy and guideline standards. The technologist will perform procedures such as Electroencephalograms, Electrooculogram, Electromyogram, Respiratory effort, Airflow, Oximetry, End Tidal, and PAP Device flow. They will also provide professional explanations of procedures and acquire patient history, ensuring proper identification and communication with patients. Additionally, the role includes technical recording, education and professional development, safety maintenance of equipment, and applying troubleshooting methods as needed.
