About The Position

The Lead Polysomnographic Tech is responsible for overseeing the operations of the sleep lab, leading a team of polysomnographic technologists, and performing sleep disorder testing on patients of all ages. This role includes coordinating staff schedules, maintaining patient records, and ensuring quality improvement initiatives are met. The position is full-time with a day shift schedule and offers a competitive salary range.

Requirements

• Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associate's degree with emphasis in polysomnography.
• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification is required.
• Healthcare Provider or Instructor BLS certification required within 30 days of placement in job.
• At least two years of sleep testing experience is required.
• Experience in scoring sleep study tests is required.
• Outstanding communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Leads and coordinates the work of other Registered Polysomnographic Technologists and sleep lab operations.
• Performs sleep disorder testing on assigned patients.
• Analyzes polysomnographic recordings and prepares detailed reports of sleep stages and events.
• Provides continuing education for professionals and the public regarding sleep disorders.
• Maintains necessary patient records and performs required billing procedures.
• Maintains equipment and records as required.
• Performs majority of scoring activities for tests performed at TMH.
• Collaborates with Insurance Verification Specialist for precertification and verification of benefits.
• Maintains log book for studies performed/cancelled/rescheduled.
• Tracks wait times for physician reading.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and accreditation for the program.
• Maintains constant contact with physicians regarding departmental operations.
• Assists manager in staff development and advancing clinical expertise within the sleep lab.
