About The Position

The Polysomnographic Technologist performs all Sleep Disorder Center procedures, including but not limited to sleep data analysis and report generation, diagnostic polysomnograms, CPAP, Bi level and/or oxygen titration polysomnograms, and Multiple Sleep Latency Tests, in a manner consistent with community and national standards. Assists the Sleep Center supervisor/manager/director in daily operations of the sleep Disorder Center, including but not limited to scheduling, answering phones, and other duties as directed by the manager or director. May be responsible for staff education and training as needed. Safely manages the environment of care while providing quality services for all customers. Provides physical and supportive care and sleep related health education to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Requirements

  • Certified Polysomnographic Technologist (CPSGT) obtained within twelve (12) months of hire or job transfer date, or a state licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.
  • Eligible for registry through the BRPT preferred.
  • One (1) year technical experience working in a sleep lab/center preferred.
  • Experience scoring sleep studies preferred.
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Graduate of an accredited polysomnography program or respiratory therapy program preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all Sleep Disorder Center procedures including sleep data analysis and report generation.
  • Conduct diagnostic polysomnograms, CPAP, Bi level and/or oxygen titration polysomnograms, and Multiple Sleep Latency Tests.
  • Assist the Sleep Center supervisor/manager/director in daily operations.
  • Schedule appointments and answer phones as directed.
  • Provide staff education and training as needed.
  • Manage the environment of care while providing quality services.
  • Provide physical and supportive care and sleep related health education to patients.
