About The Position

Job Summary: Performs comprehensive sleep testing and analysis, and associated interventions under the general supervision of the Medical Director following all AASM standards and guidelines in Sleep Testing and procedures. Essential Functions: Consistently uses an outward mindset and puts forth exemplary effort in accomplishing his/her goals and objectives in a manner that helps others to achieve their goals and objectives. Performs polysomnograms recognizing pathology and appropriate interventions for treatment understanding and implementing all treatment protocols following standards of AASM and requirements of DMEs. Must understand the function, calibration and trouble-shooting of the sleep technology and possess independent decisions as needed. Scores polysomnograms and recognize all patterns, artifacts, respiratory events, cardiac events, limb movements, arousals and other sleep/wake events, airflow/effort, electroencephalograms, electrocardiograms, electromyograms and pulse oximetry. Calibrates Sleep Monitoring Systems; maintaining accurate data at all times. Processes all reporting functions including registration process upon patient admission. Oversees all functions of non-registered Polysomnographers during patient care and monitoring process.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an accredited AASM (American Association of Sleep Medicine) program and successful passing of the AASM Polysomnography Registration or completion of an approved A-step program.
  • BLS from American Red Cross or American Heart Association certification.
  • Posses strong computer skills.
  • Able to work independently, be self motivated, and highly detail oriented.
  • Strong communication skills, being able to maintain a professional, confident manner with patients at all times.
