About The Position

The Polysomnograph Technician performs standard and complex polysomnographic recordings and monitors physiological phenomena throughout such procedures.

Requirements

• Certified Registered or Licensed Respiratory Therapist or Registered Polysomnographic Technician
• BLS through the American Heart Association
• One to three years previous patient care or health-related experience

Responsibilities

• Performs standard and complex polysomnographic recordings and monitors physiological phenomena throughout such procedures.
• Administers oxygen and nasal continuous positive airway pressure and employs ventilatory assist devices in accordance with established protocols.
• Performs special procedures such as multiple sleep latency testing.
• Ensures cleanliness, appearance and safety of physical plant and reports issues with the appropriate department as well as supervisor.
• Ensures proper functioning of equipment. Provides routine cleaning of equipment after each use. Maintains appropriate inventory of patient supplies.
• Scores polysomnogram/MSLT accurately; provides appropriate documentation for physician interpretation.
• Maintains records, reports, log books as required.
• Performs other duties of the department as assigned.
