About The Position

Seeking a seasoned Project Manager for this temporary ON-SITE opportunity to assist at a local government office in preparation for the 2026 SPRING Election. A day in the life of the Poll Worker Coordinator: Lead full lifecycle coordination of poll worker recruitment through post-election wrap-up. Develop and manage detailed staffing plans to ensure all precincts are fully staffed by mandated deadlines. Monitor staffing levels daily and proactively identify shortages, cancellations, or risk areas. Generate and maintain tracking reports (Excel/database) on recruitment, assignments, training completion, and payroll status. Serve as primary escalation point for complex poll worker concerns or last-minute call-outs. Oversee payroll accuracy, including auditing time sheets and resolving discrepancies. Ensure compliance with state and county election policies and procedures. Collaborate cross-functionally with Voter Services, Training, Payroll, and Election Operations teams. Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive voter and worker information. Support Election Day operations and remain available for extended hours as needed. Assist with post-election reporting, reconciliation, and process improvement recommendations. Document workflows and identify opportunities to streamline processes for future election cycles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in project coordination, operations, workforce scheduling, HR, or election administration.
  • Proven ability to manage large groups (100+ workers) in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (sorting, filtering, pivot tables, data validation)
  • Strong database/data entry accuracy with high attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (professional email communication required).
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills under pressure.
  • Experience processing payroll or timekeeping documentation preferred.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion with sensitive information.
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through and accountability.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime, including evenings and weekends, through the end of May.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and solutions-oriented during high-volume periods.
