About The Position

We are looking for a Polisher located at our facility in Portland, OR for a 2nd shift schedule. The Polisher uses belts, buffing wheels, and/or blasting media along with various dimensional gauges to perform the task of polishing and metal removal/surface finishing of medical devices. Performs inspection of parts for acceptability per manufacturing prints. What You’ll Do: Accurately and consistently document all performed tasks on appropriate records (work orders, inspection sheets, maintenance logs, and etc.). Inspect documents for previously completed operation sign off and verify part counts before beginning any manufacturing operation. If discrepancies are found, supervisor must be notified.Perform required maintenance checks of equipment before beginning any manufacturing operation.Prior to use, ensure measuring equipment has been calibrated, is not beyond calibration date, and is in good working condition.Follow established protocol to maintain ID & traceability of product and documentation. Notify your supervisor immediately if ID is questionable. Reference applicable drawings, specifications, and Manufacturing Process Instructions before beginning any manufacturing operation. Follow department Standard Process Instructions.

Requirements

  • Previous work experience required
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to use calipers and various other dimensional gages.
  • Ability to fill-out paperwork (e.g., work orders and basic dimensional forms).
  • Good work history and evidence of reliability.
  • Ability to read blue prints/drawings.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work experience in metal finishing is preferred but not required for this position.
