About The Position

The Policy Support Specialist at CNA is responsible for processing complex policy support transactions to ensure compliance with operational, legal, and state requirements. This role involves frequent interaction with agents, insureds, state agencies, and internal partners, focusing on delivering high-quality service and resolving complex issues efficiently.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience with additional training after high school.
  • Typically a minimum of three years of related work experience in an office environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform at high levels of productivity and quality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including professional phone etiquette.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external business partners.
  • Good analytical and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to research and solve complex problems while working independently.
  • Knowledge of basic underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices.
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and other business-related software systems.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes, researches, classifies, and completes complex and high-risk policy support transactions.
  • Clears classification or submission errors, processes policy cancellations/reinstatements, and researches complex customer-related issues.
  • Responds to and extensively researches customer, state, or underwriting requests.
  • Sends requests for missing information or other correspondence as directed by the underwriter or departmental guidelines.
  • Prepares and compiles reports from a variety of sources.
  • May lead, mentor, and train other staff.
