About The Position

The Policy Services Assistant at Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company is responsible for entering new claims into the system, attaching necessary documentation, and supporting adjusters in processing claims efficiently. The role requires meeting production and quality expectations while providing excellent customer service to both internal and external clients. The assistant will also engage in cross-training within the Customer Solution Center and Quote Prep Department, contributing to team goals in a dynamic work environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
• College Degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.
• Experience in providing excellent customer service either on the front-line or in the back office.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and presentation skills.
• Excellent PC skills, particularly in Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excel Assessment completed with a scoring of 85% or higher.
• Strong attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and effective communication with customers at all levels.
• Ability to work well in a stressful, rapidly changing environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the insurance industry.
• Familiarity with claims processing systems.

Responsibilities

• Enter new claims into the system and attach necessary documentation.
• Facilitate the adjusters' ability to process claims efficiently.
• Achieve turnaround and production requirements while meeting quality expectations.
• Cross-train on at least one horizontal skill within HSB's Customer Solution Center or Quote Prep Department.
• Provide continued support to HSB's external and internal customers.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment to achieve operational goals.
