About The Position

The National Alliance for Care at Home [https://allianceforcareathome.org/] is seeking a Policy & Regulatory Affairs Summer Intern to support its Policy & Regulatory Affairs team . This paid internship is designed to provide hands-on, structured learning for students or recent graduates interested in federal health policy, regulation, and advocacy. The intern will work under close supervision and gain practical exposure to how federal regulatory developments affect Medicare home health and hospice providers. This role emphasizes professional development, mentorship, and applied learning while contributing meaningfully to team projects.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or graduate program in public policy, health policy, public health, political science, economics, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in federal health policy, regulation, or advocacy.
  • Ability to write clearly and summarize information accurately.
  • Comfort with basic research and data review; willingness to learn regulatory concepts.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools (Teams, Zoom, SharePoint).
  • Professional, reliable, and eager to learn in a team-based environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Policy & Regulatory Affairs team with entry-level research related to home health and hospice regulatory issues.
  • Assist in tracking, organizing, and summarizing federal rules, regulations, and guidance, including the Home Health Proposed Rule and Hospice Final Rule.
  • Help prepare and edit background materials such as policy summaries, talking points, slide decks, and internal reference documents.
  • Maintain internal tracking tools and timelines related to regulatory activity.
  • Assist with preparation for member communications, webinars, and internal meetings.
  • Take notes during meetings and help distribute summaries and action items to the team.
  • Observe Congressional meetings and advocacy activities when appropriate, assisting with preparation materials and post-meeting summaries.
  • Provide general administrative and project support to ensure smooth execution of policy initiatives.
