The Policy Operations Services Representative is responsible for reviewing insurance applications and supporting documentation to determine eligibility based on established guidelines. This role involves processing transactional data across multiple systems while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as company policies. The representative will interact with customers and agents through written and verbal communication, making independent decisions regarding insurance risks and maintaining productivity and quality standards.

  • Review applications for completeness and coverage to determine acceptable risk according to eligibility guidelines.
  • Monitor automated underwriting systems and work with exception lists to assess risk.
  • Review requests for renewal, cancellation, endorsements, and policies for renewal consideration.
  • Make independent decisions regarding cancellation or non-renewal of risks in compliance with company policy and statutory regulations.
  • Prepare written correspondence to request additional documentation for processing applications and transactions.
  • Contact insurance agents via phone, email, and mail to gather necessary information for processing.
  • Process transaction data for applications, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations in accordance with regulations and company policies.
  • Document processing actions and communications with agents appropriately.
  • Meet daily productivity and quality goals, suggesting improvements for efficiency and quality of work.
  • Recognize system deficiencies and recommend enhancements or changes.
  • Minimum 6 months of clerical experience preferred.
  • Auto insurance customer service or underwriting experience preferred.
  • Basic PC and Windows familiarity required.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations and algebraic equations for billing administration.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and balance production work with quality.
  • Experience in the insurance industry
