About the position

The Policy Officer for Personnel Security at the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) plays a critical role in leading and supporting the National Counterintelligence & Security Center's (NCSC) mission to protect national security through effective personnel vetting and security policies. This position involves collaboration with various stakeholders to develop and implement uniform policies and procedures for personnel vetting, ensuring alignment with national security objectives and the Trusted Workforce 2.0 initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Personnel Security Policy and Collaboration efforts.
  • Promote effective and uniform policies for personnel vetting and national security investigations.
  • Maintain productive working relationships with colleagues and policy committees.
  • Attend training, seminars, or conferences on personnel vetting and intelligence topics.
  • Review and analyze policies and guidelines related to personnel vetting.
  • Provide intelligence briefings and reports to senior leadership.
  • Execute meetings to share information on personnel vetting policies.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations for aligning IC and Executive Branch programs with strategic objectives.
  • Support the planning and communication of trends in personnel vetting policies.
  • Advocate for ODNI's position on personnel vetting matters at various forums.

Requirements

  • A minimum of eight years of experience in the personnel security discipline.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal laws, Presidential Directives, and Executive Orders related to personnel vetting.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex issues.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with senior officials and teams.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience developing and coordinating policies and directives.
  • Knowledge of the U.S. Government and its IC components and missions.
  • Experience working in multiple Executive Branch agencies.
