About The Position

The Policy Intern position at Centene Corporation offers undergraduate students a 12-week opportunity to learn about the Managed Care industry while contributing to meaningful projects. Interns will gain insights into various processes, develop professionally, and explore career opportunities within the health policy sector.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university or college, preferably in a field related to the hiring department.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Health Policy leadership to track regulatory and legislative proposals at both the state and federal level.
  • Assist with preliminary policy research, analysis, and literature review for policy positioning papers and comments on proposed federal regulations.
  • Draft policy positioning papers, talking points, rule summaries, and other documents to support government relations teams.
  • Provide analysis on key health policy issues including Medicaid, Marketplace, Medicare Advantage, and Part D.
  • Coordinate with the External Affairs leadership team to identify and complete a 'signature project' that aligns with Centene's mission.
