About The Position

The POLICY ASSOCIATE will join the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), a global research center dedicated to reducing poverty by ensuring that policy is informed by scientific evidence. The role involves writing publications that translate economic research into actionable lessons for policymakers worldwide. The associate will support senior staff in creating materials for policy outreach, which includes publications, evaluation summaries, presentations, grant proposals, policy memos, blogs, social media content, newsletters, and website content, among other sector-specific work. Additionally, the associate will develop in-depth knowledge of one or more J-PAL sectors, manage the administration of a sector-specific ongoing competitive research fund, and provide evidence support to policymakers. The role may also involve supporting J-PAL's overall mission in various ways, including knowledge management, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, serving as a liaison between J-PAL Global and its regional offices, or assisting with other J-PAL projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
• Training in economics, including intermediate-level economics and econometrics.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree.
• Demonstrated interest in and experience with one or more of J-PAL's sectors.
