About The Position

Innovaccer is seeking a VBC Policy and Programs Lead to serve as the connective tissue between federal value-based care policy, implementation and our customer base. This role sits at the intersection of policy expertise and customer success, ensuring our ACO and provider customers understand, engage with, and succeed in CMS Innovation Center models, and other accountable care initiatives, working as part of a cross functional team that includes product, customer success, front-end sales, and our executive team. You'll be responsible for building and running our VBC policy education program, translating complex CMMI model requirements into actionable guidance, and serving as a key relationship holder with CMS and HHS program leadership on behalf of Innovaccer and our customers. A Day in the Life Customer Education and Enablement Design and deliver continuous education programming on VBC policy developments, model requirements, and program updates for Innovaccer's customer base. Develop materials that translate dense federal register notices and model guidance into practical operational implications. Create scalable resources (webinars, guides, office hours) that keep customers current on policy changes affecting their participation in CMS models. Policy Analysis and Customer Impact Assessment Monitor and analyze CMS/CMMI policy developments with specific focus on implications for Innovaccer's ACO and provider customers. Produce timely analysis of proposed and final rules, model updates, and programmatic changes. Brief customers and internal teams on policy shifts that affect model participation, quality reporting, and financial benchmarks. CMS/CMMI Engagement Represent Innovaccer and coordinate customer participation in CMS and other federal healthcare stakeholder engagement opportunities. Build and maintain relationships with program leaders. Facilitate feedback loops between our customers' on-the-ground experience and program and policy leaders. Support customers in navigating model application processes and ongoing program requirements. Model Enrollment and Participation Track and report on customer model participation and results as a core success metric. Identify customers who would benefit from model participation and support their enrollment journey.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in healthcare policy, with deep knowledge of CMS value-based care programs and CMMI models.
  • Direct experience with ACO operations, model participation, or CMS program implementation.
  • Track record of translating complex policy into accessible education and guidance
  • Existing relationships with CMS/CMMI staff or demonstrated ability to build federal relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting to both executives and operational staff.
  • Experience designing and delivering training or education programs.
  • Familiarity with the operational realities of ACOs, health systems, or provider organizations participating in value-based arrangements.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous CMS, HHS, or congressional health staff experience, with experience working at the CMS Innovation Center on accountable care models strong preferred
  • Experience with accountable care models from the health system/provider participant side, working for a health system, ACO, clinically-integrated network, or other provider organization.
