About The Position

The Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation is currently hiring for a full-time Policy Advocacy Director (state lead) to join their team. This role is responsible for advocating for and advancing the Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation’s (WyFBF) priorities and policies. The position involves analyzing legislative and regulatory proposals, developing lobbying strategies, and fostering relationships to support Wyoming’s agricultural community. The Policy Advocacy Director will provide expert analysis, develop communications, and work closely with the WyFBF Executive Vice President to represent the organization before governmental entities and other stakeholders. The Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation is a grassroots membership agricultural organization founded in 1920, with its advocacy strength derived from member-driven policy development at the local level. The organization believes in protecting private property rights, upholding constitutional government, and advancing a free market economy, advocating through engagement in legislative, regulatory, legal, and consumer arenas. Their mission is to strengthen Wyoming Agriculture and enhance Wyoming Communities. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
  • Governmental affairs experience
  • Proficiency in research and policy analysis
  • Ability to analyze complex legislative and regulatory issues and communicate findings clearly
  • General dexterity to perform the essential functions of the position, including operating a computer and moving office products/supplies
  • Ability to communicate via in-person and virtual interactions, including telephone communications
  • Pass a drug and alcohol screening
  • Undergo a background check
  • Have a clear Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with lobbying, grassroots organizing, or public advocacy
  • Knowledge or experience in agriculture
  • Familiarity with WyFBF policies and procedures
  • Political awareness and understanding of state governance
