About The Position

The Police Sergeant position with the Division of Capitol Police is a full-time role responsible for supervising police officers and overseeing law enforcement activities during their shift. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with laws and department policies, conducting evaluations, and implementing disciplinary actions as necessary. The Sergeant will also coordinate field operations, maintain relationships with local law enforcement agencies, and manage criminal investigations, all while promoting community safety and security.

Requirements

• Must be certified as a law enforcement officer by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board (LESB) or eligible for certification at the time of application.
• Experience in criminal investigation practices, processes, and procedures.
• Experience serving in a supervisory or leadership role in a law enforcement setting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as shift commander and supervise Police Officers during their shift.
