About the position
This position is located in the Public Safety Support division of the Police Department within the city of Oklahoma City. The position uses subject matter knowledge and judgment to complete assignments consisting of numerous steps that vary in nature and sequence and must possess any necessary licenses and certifications prior to assuming the job. Dependent upon assignment, the Police Program Technician may apply knowledge of Oklahoma law, city ordinances, police procedures and criminal behavior to provide administrative and technical support to the assigned division. Duties may include, but are not limited to providing administrative and technical support; preparing and submitting police reports; conducting research and providing analyses; administering program services; making presentations to the public and in court; and assisting in criminal investigations.

Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old at the time of application.
- Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check and polygraph test prior to employment.
- Must complete required CJIS Security and Privacy Training and pass the online certification test.
Nice-to-haves
- College degree and/or experience with victim advocacy.
- Bi-lingual (Spanish).
- Knowledge and understanding of law enforcement structure.
- Knowledge of methods used to recruit, organize, train, utilize, motivate and recognize volunteers and organizations.
- Experience working with limited English proficiency populations.
- Experience with resources/referral services and understanding the impact of crime.
- Skill in scheduling, assigning and coordinating the activities of others.
Benefits
- Pay range of $18.00 - $28.00 Hourly.
- Pay may be higher based on qualifications and experience.
