BWXT is looking for dedicated, skilled Police Officers to join team at our Lynchburg, VA location. As a key part of our team, you will play a vital role in protecting our state-of-the-art facility, which supports critical work for the U.S. National Defense.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferably a Virginia DCJS Certified Law Enforcement Officer.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to complete physical agility tests, physical exams, psychological evaluations, and drug screenings.
  • U.S. Citizen with no dual citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) 'Q' clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the certification of a certified police officer through the Department of Criminal Justice Services.
  • Meet compliance standards by following regulatory requirements established by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and the Department of Energy (DOE).
  • Ensure access control of personnel, materials, and packages entering or leaving restricted areas.
  • Protect classified material and sensitive assets critical to national security.
  • Remain vigilant and prepared to respond to security threats and emergencies.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned to contribute to the overall security efforts.
