About The Position

The Sioux Falls Police Department is seeking Police Officers to serve, protect, and promote the quality of life in Sioux Falls. Work/life balance is supported through an annual shift-bid system, generous vacation time, sick leave, and personal days, with most schedules consisting of four 10-hour shifts followed by three days off. The department is currently accepting applications for its October 26th, 2026, recruitment class, with an average hiring process of 2-3 months. There is no residency requirement and no state income tax in South Dakota.

Benefits

DAY 1 WAGE: $34.63 hourly ($72,030.40 annual)
SIGN ON BONUS: $5,000.00
SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL: $2.00 per hour
BILINGUAL PAY: $1,755.00 annually, $33.75 weekly
